In 1992 I earned my BS in Education from St. Cloud State University.\u00a0 Where teaching methods and the basics of behaviorism was studied.\u00a0 I rescued my first dog in 1993 and quickly got into the sport of Dog Agility.\u00a0 Within 4 years I had 4 adult rescue dogs, all with different issues.\u00a0 To help them I spent a lot of time and energy researching, attending seminars and classes.\u00a0 It all paid off, earning several top titles from the United States Dog Agility Association (USDAA), and American Kennel Club (AKC), as well as successfully competing in UK Agility International (UKI), Canine Performance Sports (CPE) and North America Dog Agility Council (NADAC).<\/p>\n

I started teaching Dog Agility for the St. Cloud agility group (CACM) around 1995, developing a Beginners and Novice Program for them.\u00a0 I moved to Little Falls in 1997 and opened Tails In Motion the next year.\u00a0 At first I only offered agility classes, then in 2007, after receiving many requests, I started teaching Obedience classes. In 2020 I took on line courses from Absolute Dog Academy and earned a Pro Dog Trainer Certificate.<\/p>\n

I use concept training games and behavior shaping to develop the good dogs we all want to have.\u00a0 I continue to attend different seminars so I can bring back new ideas to all my students.\u00a0 In 1997 I became a USDAA judge and have judged several Cynosports and internationally.\u00a0 I also judge UKI.<\/p>\n

Currently I have 4 dogs.\u00a0 Zyme (Heeler X Border Collie), Keyayra (Pomeranian X Jack Russel Terrier), Adryk (White Shepherd) and Gajyeowa (BC X Heeler).\u00a0 I compete in USDAA and UKI Trials.<\/p>\n

Training should not be a chore, it should be fun for both you and your dog.<\/p>\n

I started in the canine field when I got my first rescue dog (Denizen) in 1993. He started my research into dog training and behavior problems. I continued my canine education by getting involved in Canine Agility, and a short time later I started teaching Agility. Within 2 years I had 4 adult rescue dogs, all with different issues. I then managed a humane society for 5 years and helped new adopters with any issues their new companion may have.
